Shah

Second Chance's Shah

Biography

Shah was surrendered to Second Chance after his owner called us on recommendation from the RSPCA. She was struggling to provide Shah with basic care and was unable to work with him at all due to health problems and was due to go into hospital shortly. She was unable to get an appropriate weight onto Shah and not in a financial position to provide his extra work that he required to bring him up to top condition. The fencing at his home was very poor (broken and trailing barbed wire) and he was often getting out onto the road and there was great concern for his safety. She had advertised him a couple of times, looking for an appropriate new home for the green ex race horse however didn't get any calls.

Shah arrived with a body score of 2.5, teeth issues due to not capping properly and not being provided with appropriate dental care to remove them. Shah is already proving himself to have the famous Danehill good temperment (he is a Danehill grandson) and his second night in care showed his natural athelitism by jumping clean over his paddock fence when a bad storm frightened him!

Shah's name is Arabic and means 'king'.
