Omen
Second Chance's Good Omen |
|
Biography |
Omen was surrendered to Second Chance after we responded to a report of horses that looked like they were in trouble from a concerned member of the public. We went to have a chat to the owners of the horses and found that Omen was agisted there by a friend of the family. After further investigation and speaking to both the people who lived at the property and the owners of Omen, we learned that they were very new to horses and had got him without being quite prepared for horse ownership. The family were struggling to afford even the basics of adequate feed and hoofcare and asked if we would take Omen in as they had attempted to give him away but not been successful and didn't know what else to do. Omen wasn't helping by learning that pinning his ears and turning his bum to his young owner sent her scurrying for cover! Second Chance has begun liaising with the owners to direct them into a well reputed riding school so that the young girls can learn to ride and care for horses in a safe environment with good coaches and well trained horses on hand to learn from and we hope that they will reconsider delving into horse ownership so quickly next time. |
