Biography |
Well this fellow isn't exactly a rescue although he was to begin with... a lovely family picked him up from the sales approximately 18 months ago. This poor little thing was very underweight, his hooves long and uncomfortable and his future prospects looked bleak. So they decided to bring him home. For the first couple of days this little lad was very ameniable and quiet... until the drugs wore off! Suddenly they had a very nervous, flighty and mostly unhandled colt on their hands. Over the school holidays, one of the girls in the family paid a lot of attention to him, and did a fair bit of work gaining his trust. Things seemed to be turning around for the pony however once the new school year began, especially as she went into high school for the first time, his young handler found it a struggle to keep up with making new friends, the new level of homework and school activities. So for quite some time the pony remained in their care, receiving all the food and fresh water he could want along with having a secure, safe home. However as time went on, even though he was often visited and talked to this little pony reverted back to being nervous and reluctant to allow anyone near him. After some time, the family decided they simply didn't have the experience to help him and he was surrendered to Second Chance. Milo's training has been coming along in leaps and bounds. He is now a happy young gelding, well socialised and well handled. He has done all his ground work, and will be ready to commence his under saddle training this coming summer. |
