How You Can Help
Donate
Donations are always welcomed and appreciated at Second Chance. First and foremost, we need money. Although our committee members, volunteers and foster care-givers give of their time and services for free, we still must pay for veterinary bills, feed, dental and farrier care for our horses and ponies, not to mention the costs of advertising, postage, printing etc.
We also need donations of second-hand horse gear such as saddles, bridles, rugs, feed bins, fly-veils, halters, first aid items, etc. for our horses. Click here to view our Wish List of items.
Other donations that are welcome include good quality items we can auction off on eBay or at events, or products/items we can raffle off to raise funds for our organisation.
Volunteer
We always need volunteers! We need people like you who are willing to set aside some time to help us out. You may wish to leap in with both feet and help us by selling raffle tickets, running sausage-sizzles or market stalls, collecting donations on street-appeal days, or handing around donation tins to local businesses. Or you may prefer to take the quieter option of the occasional letter-box drop, putting up fliers or rallying around your friends for donations. There are a lot of ways you can help us fundraise for our organisation and this is what we need most - people with time to come and help us raise the money that keeps us going.
Become a Member
Join the 'Friends Of Second Chance' membership group! The modest annual fee goes towards our work and in return you receive a quarterly newsletter, and special offers available to members only. You also need to be a member if you wish to foster or adopt a horse or pony from us. Whether you choose an active, or passive role within your membership, just by joining you are stating the fact that you will not just stand aside and turn a blind eye to the issues facing so many horses and ponies in WA, you are saying that you stand by us and what we are aiming to do. And we appreciate this support!
Foster
Would you like to do something totally rewarding and help a horse to recovery? Foster care-givers are required to help us by providing a safe environment and TLC to our rescued horses and ponies. We provide a full support service to foster care-givers as well as financial assistance. We can only take in as many horses and ponies as we have room for!
Sponsorship
Sponsor a horse or pony! Sponsors pay either a monthly fee or an annual fee and recieve a certificate, photograph, regular updates and more! This is a superb way to help Second Chance without needing to give up too much of your time. Please click the link above to find out more about our sponsorship program.
Adoption
Looking for a horse or pony? Why not consider adopting a rehabilitated rescue as an alternative to purchasing! We have one horse currently available for adoption, and we are also taking requirements for our waiting list. Also, if Second Chance is notified of horses in need of a good home and we are unable to take them ourselves due to financial restrictions or lack of room, we quickly alert those on our waiting list in case one of them is able to help out.
Corporate Sponsorship
Perhaps your business or company is interested in sponsoring our wonderful organisation. Corporate sponsorships are always greatly appreciated and in return, you will have your company or business's logo and contact details on the item you are sponsoring, or displayed proudly at the event you may be assisting with. Please click the link above for further details.
