Little Dorrit
Second Chance's Little Dorrit |
|
Biography |
Little Dorrit was surrendered to Second Chance following her owner contacting us to ask if we'd take her and her paddock companion on. She was suffering both founder and seedy toe and had not had her hooves trimmed in approximately 5 - 6 months. Her owner informed us that she didn't have time to take care of the ponies any more and couldn't afford to have the Vet come out to her. We collected her immediately along with her paddock buddy and took her directly to the Veterinary Hospital for Xrays and vaccinations. Her prognosis was good, and the Vet informed us that in time she would recover well and would make a superb pet or show pony for somebody in the future. Little Dorrit was named after a Charles Dickens novel and character Amy Dorrit who underwent hardship and trial and overcame her troubles with quiet bravery.
On arrival to the Vets, very sore particularly in her right front hoof, overweight and her hooves very long |
